Chery Arrizo 8 sedan will be updated soon: classic automatic and something else

The large four-door will also receive improved equipment. On the domestic market, sales of the updated model will start in a few days.

The flagship Chery Arrizo 8 sedan reached Russia last year. But in its native China, the model has been present since 2022, and now a modernized four-door has been announced there. No, this is not a restyling yet, but the G8 will still have at least one important update.

So, in the Middle Kingdom, Arrizo 8 with a 2.0 petrol turbo-four with a power of 254 hp. (this engine is not provided for the Russian sedan) will be offered with a classic eight-speed automatic transmission of Chery’s own design. Now, let us remind you, the model is presented exclusively with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches (7DCT). The Chinese still have access to a sedan with a junior 1.6 turbo engine producing 197 hp. (in the Russian Federation it produces 150 or 186 hp): this engine will still be paired with 7DCT. In any case, the drive is only front-wheel drive.

It is also reported that the model will receive a heated steering wheel (it was initially available in Russia), and the multimedia of the 1.6T model will switch to the Qualcomm Snapdragon Dragon 8155 chip. Finally, the voice control function will be improved: in particular, it will be possible to open the trunk with your voice. The list of equipment of the current sedan, depending on the configuration, also includes heated and ventilated front seats, all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control, auto braking systems, lane keeping and blind spot monitoring.

In China, the start of sales of the refreshed Chery Arrizo 8 is scheduled for June 16, prices have not yet been announced. A pre-reform four-door with 1.6T now costs from 108,900 yuan (about 1.3 million rubles at the current exchange rate), a sedan with 2.0T will cost at least 129,900 yuan (1.6 million rubles). In Russia, the model costs from 2,800,000 rubles (excluding shares). It is possible that later we will also have an Arrizo 8 with a two-liter turbo engine and 8AT.
