UN: More than two thousand children died in the Gaza Strip in 2023

The UN report revealed statistics on the death of more than 2.1 thousand children in the Gaza Strip for 2023. This is the report of the United Nations Secretary General.

The report refers only to events that fall within one calendar year, starting from January 1, 2023.

«UN confirmed killing of 2,267 Palestinian children (1,259 boys, 1,008 girls), of which 2,141 [were killed] in the Gaza Strip,” the report figures say.

It is especially important to note the responsibility of the parties involved in conflicts, for the death of children. According to the text of the document, the UN has established the responsibility of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for the deaths of 206 children. This is a labor-intensive process, so it has only just begun, the UN noted.

Most of the children died due to “the use of explosive weapons in populated areas.”
