Minnikhanov commented on the powerful transformation of Kazan

On Thursday, a visiting meeting of the Russian State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports is being held in Kazan. The capital of the republic also hosts the BRICS Games, which take place from June 12 to 24. About five thousand athletes will take part in the competition, who will compete for 387 sets of medals. 93 countries have confirmed their participation in the BRICS Games.
“»Thanks to sports, our republic has changed greatly, especially Kazan. The main changes were associated with the Universiade (2013), we have become different. Today more than four million tourists come to Kazan, our republic has prepared a hospitality infrastructure. The city is able to host events of any kind scale,» Minnikhanov said at the meeting.
«63% of people here (in Tatarstan) are involved in physical education and sports. These are not just drawn figures, look how many sports facilities we have built. None of them are empty, everyone exercises in them from morning to night,» — emphasized the head of the region.
