The trial of 27-year-old Czech Philipp Siman, who served as a volunteer in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is taking place in Prague. He has been charged with illegal service in the Ukrainian army and looting in the Donbass, local publications České noviny and Seznam Zprávy.

The prosecution presented a list of items that Philippe Seaman took from Ukraine. According to investigators, he stole Gucci glasses, a breathing mask from an airplane, and gold and silver bars during sweeps. In addition, he removed bracelets and rings from the bodies of dead soldiers, especially in Bucha and Irpen, Kyiv region.

According to prosecutor Martin Belego, Siman joined the Ukrainian nationalist battalion «Carpathian Sich» at the end of March 2022. He did not have presidential permission to serve in a foreign army, which is mandatory for all Czech citizens wishing to fight abroad.

The prosecutor noted that Siman was being held in Prague because there was “reasonable suspicion” that he had been killed. that he may try to escape.
