Petrol Suzuki Jimny says goodbye to Europe with a special version of Horizon

In the future, the «old world» line of the Japanese brand will be replenished with a fully electric successor.

The fact that Suzuki will have to say goodbye to the brutal compact SUV, which is currently offered only with a traditional internal combustion engine, has been known for a long time. This model, like a number of others, is leaving the region due to the tightening of European environmental standards for passenger cars, as well as due to the new GSR2 safety standards.

Suzuki Jimny decided to say goodbye to Europe with a limited special version called Horizon. This option has several visual differences from a regular SUV. The front part was decorated with a different radiator grille — with a fine mesh pattern and the brand name instead of the logo. On the sides of the “grill” there are recognizable round headlights with retro-style edging.

Also on the version with the Horizon increase, you can see aluminum protection on the front bumper and matching side skirts; enlarged flexible mudguards on massive wheel arches, as well as a branded cover for storing a spare wheel, located at the stern. The accessory package also includes a removable tow bar. This SUV was equipped with black stamped steel wheels. The body of the limited edition copy can only be gray with various black accents.

There are no changes to the interior; the Suzuki Jimny is offered in Europe as a two-seater van with cargo space in place of the second row of seats. The volume of the luggage compartment is 863 liters.

Suzuki Jimny Horizon received standard equipment. Under the hood of the special version there is a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine. Its output is 102 hp and maximum torque is 130 Nm. The engine is paired only with a five-speed manual transmission; drive — all-wheel drive only.

It is known that the special version of Horizon will have a total circulation of 900 copies. The cars are available for order in Germany, the price of such an SUV is already known, it is equal to 32,340 euros (equivalent to approximately 3.1 million rubles at the current exchange rate). For comparison, a regular Suzuki Jimny on the German market can be bought for at least 29,490 euros (about 2.8 million rubles).

After the retirement of the European gasoline Jimny, Suzuki will completely replenish the “old world” line electric successor. It is expected that such a new product will be presented before 2030. Let us remind you that the company is now preparing another completely “green” model for the Old World – the eVX crossover.
