MOSCOW, July 10 Honored Artist of Russia Andrian Fadeev has been appointed artistic director of the Mariinsky Theater ballet troupe, according to the theatre’s Telegram channel.

“On July 10, 2024, Honored Artist of Russia Andrian Fadeev was appointed artistic director of the Mariinsky Theater ballet troupe. Graduate of the Academy of Russian Ballet named after. A. Ya. Vaganova, just two years after joining the Mariinsky Theater troupe, he became a leading soloist, taking prizes at major international competitions throughout his career,” the message says.
It is noted that over the years of work at the Mariinsky Theater, the prime minister created a whole gallery of memorable images on stage, performing the main roles in the most iconic productions of the world repertoire: both in classical heritage ballets and in cult performances of the 20th and 21st centuries.
In 2001, especially for Andrian Fadeev, John Neumeier created the main role in the ballet “The Sound of Blank Pages”. The dancer shone on the stages of the Berlin, Vienna, Munich, Rome Opera, National Theaters of Beijing and Tokyo. In 2011, Andrian Fadeev took the post of artistic director — director of the St. Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theater named after Leonid Yakobson.
