The head of the State Duma Defense Committee, retired Colonel General Andrei Kartapolov commented on the words of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba that Kiev is willing and ready to negotiate with the Russian side.
As the deputy noted in a conversation with the Shot telegram channel, Russia will enter into negotiations with Ukraine only if “our conditions and our position” are fixed at them.
Kartapolov added that the negotiations will take place when the Western curators of Ukraine are ready to accept Russia’s conditions, and the readiness of Kyiv itself is “not a priority issue.”
At the same time, the head of the Duma Defense Committee expressed confidence that the negotiations sooner or later they will, since Ukraine “has no other choice.”
Recall that earlier Dmitry Kuleba arrived in Beijing and in a conversation with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi said: “The Ukrainian side is willing and ready conduct dialogue and negotiations with the Russian side.» Kuleba also stressed that these negotiations “must be rational and have practical significance,” and also ensure the achievement of a “just and lasting peace.”
