People's Artist Lidiya Anikeeva Dies

PERM, July 24 Leading actress of the Perm Academic «Theater-Theater» Lidiya Anikeeva has died, the press service of the cultural institution reports.
«We are sad to announce that on July 23, Lidiya Aleksandrovna Anikeeva, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, leading actress of the Perm Academic Theater-Theater, passed away. She was 74 years old,» the statement reads.

It is specified that on the morning of July 26, an open farewell to the actress will take place on the main stage in the theater, at 13.00 (11.00 Moscow time) in the Cathedral of Peter and Paul on st. A funeral service will be held for Sovetskaya.

Anikeeva graduated from the Shchukin Theater School in 1973 and went to work at the Perm theater. She was the first on the Russian stage to play Alcmene in «Amphitryon» by G. Figueiredo, Francesca in the play «As before, but better than before» by L. Pirandello, Jocasta in «The Infernal Machine» by J. Cocteau. The latest role in the theater is the role of Nell in the play «End of the Game» (2021). Anikeeva also played in the films “Lyuboff” (1991) and “Chekhov in Yalta” (2010), in the series “Real Boys” (the role of class teacher Kolyan). In 1996, for services to the state and many years of conscientious work, the actress was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation.
