The new Nissan Patrol began to be revealed in stages

Nissan has launched a teaser campaign for a new generation SUV. According to preliminary data, the full presentation will be held in early September.

Nissan turned the premiere of the next-generation Patrol all-terrain vehicle with the factory index Y63 into a separate and long-running show. So, the first hint about the model appeared in the spring: it appeared in a general teaser video with many other new products. In July, the new Nissan Patrol and its American version Armada appeared in the manufacturer's financial report. And a couple of days ago, the Middle East division of Nissan made another announcement — but without the name of the car. So, now Nissan Middle East has officially begun to declassify the new product.

So, Nissan's new SUV has its own promo site. By the way, the model name has not yet been announced, but the site code «accidentally» indicates the name Patrol. It is reported that Nissan will show some part of the car every Thursday. And the site has also launched a countdown: at the time of publication of the news, it showed that there were 33 days left until some event. Apparently, the «event» is the presentation of the Nissan Patrol. Thus, the model will be fully revealed in early September.

Well, today we were shown the radiator grille of the new Patrol. The grille is mesh, with fairly large rectangular plates, with solid horizontal bars on top. In addition, the teaser site promises “exclusive aerodynamic design,” “smooth lines and bold intersections,” and an overall “impressive appearance at first glance.”

No word on the technology yet. Probably, following the already presented related Infiniti QX80, the new Nissan Patrol switched to a gasoline twin-turbocharged V6 3.5 engine, and the seven-speed automatic was replaced with a 9AT. In the premium brother, the engine produces 456 hp. The previous Patrol in the Middle East is available with a V6 4.0 (275 hp) and V8 5.6 (400 hp), plus a “charged” Nismo version with a V8 forced to 428 hp is presented there. It is possible that the new generation SUV will no longer have a choice of engines.
