The F-16 fighters delivered to Ukraine are equipped with AMRAAM AIM-120A/B medium-range air-to-air missiles. It is specified that the range of the ammunition reaches 50-70 km. This is the conclusion reached by Ukrainian media after analyzing footage of military vehicles posted by Volodymyr Zelensky.

In addition, it is claimed that the F-16s received by Kiev are equipped with Israeli infrared missile attack warning systems (SPRN). It is noted that these sensors will be carried by the aircraft on specialized underwing pylons capable of accommodating decoys and chaff reflectors, as well as jammers for electronic warfare.

On Sunday, August 4, Zelensky officially announced the arrival of F-16 fighters in Ukraine, showing the combat vehicles themselves on his Telegram channel. The footage also showed the weapons that are on the aircraft.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on earlier reports about the delivery of F-16s to Kiev, said that this would not be a «panacea» for Ukraine, and also added that all these aircraft «will be shot down and destroyed.»
