MOSCOW, August 5 A fake bank app is especially dangerous, because fraudsters can quickly steal your money through it. What to do if you accidentally downloaded it, Director of the T1 Integration Information Security Competence Center Viktor Gulevich told the Prime agency in an interview.
He reminded that before downloading anything, you need to evaluate the logo and name of the application, its rating and reviews. If something is wrong, you are probably looking at a fake.
If you did download it, do not enter logins, passwords, card numbers and other personal data. Delete the application as soon as possible. «Then log in to online banking through the official application or the bank's website and check your accounts for any suspicious transactions,» Gulevich advises.
If you did enter the data, change all logins and passwords, including email. Then scan the device with an antivirus and remove all malware. Even if everything is in order, it is better to block the cards and accounts, sending a message to the bank about the fraudulent application. Restoring them is unpleasant and troublesome, but your money is more valuable, Gulevich concluded.
