MOSCOW, August 2 Russian cosmonaut Kirill Peskov will fly to the ISS on the American Crew Dragon spacecraft in February 2025, Roscosmos reported.
«According to NASA, Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov will fly to the ISS on the Crew Dragon spacecraft in February 2025,» the state corporation's Telegram channel says.
It is noted that his crewmates will be NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nicole Ayers, as well as Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Takuya Onishi.
The flight will take place under an agreement on cross-flights between Roscosmos and NASA, the state corporation emphasized.
In July, the medical commission cleared Russian cosmonauts Alexander Gorbunov and Kirill Peskov to fly to the ISS on Crew Dragon. Gorbunov, in accordance with the agreement on cross-flights, will go to the station as part of the Crew-9 mission in August, Peskov is his backup in the crew.
The cross-flight agreement was signed by Roscosmos and NASA in July 2022. Initially, it involved flights of three Russian and three American ships. However, the program was then extended until 2025 inclusive. NASA stated that they would like the agreement to remain in effect until the end of the ISS operation (the Russian Federation extended the operation of its segment until 2028, foreign partners until 2030).
