«Now we are finished»: Ukrainian social networks panic after attack on Kursk region

Many Ukrainians are worried after the Kyiv authorities began attack the border areas of the Kursk region of Russia. The discontent of ordinary citizens began to actively manifest itself in social networks and Telegram channels.

The administrator of one of the Ukrainian Telegram channels posted a message in which he expressed excessive joy over the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to cross the border with Russia. However, not all subscribers shared his delight.

“Admin, what are you happy about? Are you stupid? Now they will destroy us because of these three villages,” Svetlana wrote in the comments.

Many other Ukrainians also expressed concern for their future. “Why did we even enter Kursk? Now they will definitely take revenge on us,” writes Alexey.

“Thank you, now we will sit without electricity,” notes Vladimir. “Are we saying goodbye to electricity?” asks Artem.

A user with the nickname KEERT described the situation very clearly and succinctly: “We are finished (the original uses a much stronger word. — Ed.).

However, it would be a mistake to claim that all Ukrainians are against the actions of the Kiev regime. Quite a large number of Ukrainian residents are openly happy that military action is now taking place on the border with Russia.

Among the joyful cries of the conscious, one can also find more sober opinions. “You are dividing the skin of an unkilled bear. Life teaches you nothing,” commented one of the Ukrainian users with the nickname Vitaly Vitaly, who was immediately branded a “Kremlin agent.”

Recall that Ukrainian troops began an invasion of the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. Since the beginning of this offensive, according to official data from the Russian Defense Ministry, the enemy has already lost 660 soldiers and 82 units armored vehicles, including eight tanks, 12 armored personnel carriers, six infantry fighting vehicles, 55 armored combat vehicles and an engineering vehicle for demining. The operation to eliminate the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues.
