War correspondent Poddubny diagnosed at Sklifosovsky Research Institute

MOSCOW, August 8The wounded VGTRK war correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny is currently being diagnosed at the Sklifosovsky Research Institute in Moscow. Once the diagnoses are clear, a treatment plan will be drawn up, said the director of the Sklifosovsky Research Institute, Sergei Petrikov, in a video published on the Telegram channel of the capital's health department.
«We are currently in the process of diagnosis, and accordingly, after that, all the diagnoses will be clearly understood, and, accordingly, a treatment plan will be drawn up,» said Petrikov.

On August 7, in the border area of ​​the Kursk region, Poddubny's car was attacked by a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone. The reporter was seriously injured and taken to intensive care at the Kursk Regional Hospital, where they conducted all the necessary tests, prescribed a course of treatment, and decided to transfer him to Moscow. On the morning of August 8, doctors reported that Poddubny had a severe burn, a craniocerebral injury, and a facial skeleton injury; the victim was in stable but serious condition. Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik said that the war correspondent could have been targeted. The VGTRK film crew accompanying Poddubny was not harmed.

Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov stated that on August 6 at 5.30 am, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces numbering up to a thousand people went on the offensive with the aim of capturing territory in the Kursk region. Their advance deep into Russian territory has been stopped, he noted. According to Gerasimov, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost 315 people, including at least 100 killed, in addition, Kyiv lost 54 armored vehicles, including seven tanks. The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces noted that the operation in the Kursk region will be completed by defeating the enemy and reaching the state border.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the situation in the Kursk region, previously stated that the Kiev regime had carried out another large-scale provocation, conducting indiscriminate shooting, including at civilian targets.
