MOSCOW, August 16 Moscow's Khoroshevsky Court fined the creator of the cartoon character Mr. Freeman Pavel Muntyan* for violating the law on the activities of foreign agents, the court's press service reported.
«Muntyan* was sentenced to an administrative fine of 40 thousand rubles,» the agency's source said. 
The protocol was drawn up due to the failure of the foreign agent to submit reports on its activities to the authorized body, as required by Russian legislation.
In April 2023, the Ministry of Justice included Muntyan* in the register of foreign agents. According to the department, he opposed a special military operation, distributed materials of foreign agents, and raised funds in support of Ukraine.
Earlier, Muntyan* was fined 40 thousand rubles for publishing materials without appropriate marking.
In addition, he was punished for a similar amount for discrediting the Russian army. 
A criminal case has also been opened against Muntyan* for distributing fakes about the Russian Armed Forces. He was put on the wanted list in December last year and arrested in absentia.
According to a source in law enforcement agencies, the case was opened for distributing fakes about the actions of the Russian army in Bucha. The animator faces up to 10 years in prison.
