Oscar-winning Richard Dreyfuss The actor criticized the new Oscar rules, saying they «make me vomit.»
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science has introduced strict new standards for films nominated for the award.
They represent the biggest rule change since the awards were created in 1929.
To be nominated, a film must meet two of the four criteria. First, the production features at least one star from an «underrepresented racial or ethnic group».
Or 30% of supporting cast must be from at least two underrepresented groups that also include women, LGBTQ and #43; or people with disabilities.
If none of these requirements can be met, then the main storyline should focus on the underrepresented group.

The second condition imposes similar standards on the production team. For example, at least two top executives, such as a director or cinematographer, must be from a minority.
And a third says that film production and distribution companies should have paid internships and offer training to underrepresented groups.
The fourth requirement states that production companies must also have «a few full-time senior executives from underrepresented groups.»
«That's so patronizing»
A question on American public radio about the new «inclusion standards», Dreyfuss responded: «I'm sick of them.»
«Nobody should tell me as an artist that I should succumb to the latest, most current idea of what morality is.»
«Than we risk? Are we really at risk of hurting people's feelings? You cannot legalize it. You have to let life be life and I'm sorry, I don't think there is a minority or majority in the country that needs to be served that way.»
He added: «I'm told I'll never have a chance to play a black man?»
«Anyone else being told that if they're not Jewish, they shouldn't play the Merchant of Venice? We are crazy? Don't we know that art is art?»
Dreyfus added, «It's so patronizing. It's so thoughtless and treating people like children.»
