Orders for the Hyundai SUV are already being accepted in the manufacturing homeland, where the model is offered with a gasoline “aspirated” and its gas version. Later, the compact is expected to appear in other markets.
The design sketch of the new budget cross-country Hyundai Exter was published at the end of April. And now the manufacturer has distributed a couple of full-fledged corporate images and shared details about the technique. In addition, fresh “live” photos of a small “five-door” without a patch of camouflage appeared: these pictures were taken in Korea, they were posted on the local Naver online platform in the MotorsJason community. However, in the homeland of Hyundai, the SUV will not be sold, there the model is only run in. The main market for Exter will be India, where they will establish production. At the same time, they plan to supply the novelty to other developing countries later.
According to preliminary data, the Hyundai Exter is based on the Indian hatch Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, but the SUV still has an original body and its own design, and outwardly the cross echoes the next generation Hyundai Santa Fe (not yet presented). Common features with the upcoming Santa are a rectangular radiator grille and diode H integrated into the optics (Exter has running lights in the form of these letters, similar letters are also present in the rear lights). Other features of the state employee — «protective plates» on the bumpers, squarish wheel arches and embossed inserts in the rear roof pillars.

The Hyundai Exter will be available to Indians with a gasoline four-cylinder “aspirated” 1.2 and its gas version: there are such engines and at the local Grand, on the hatch they give out 83 and 69 hp. respectively. Both motors are combined with a five-speed “mechanics”, a purely gasoline robotic box is still required. The crossover is exclusively front-wheel drive.

In India, they are already accepting orders for the Exter, although there are no prices yet: the SUV should fully open only in the summer. Most likely, the novelty will be more expensive than the Grand i10 Nios (from 573,400 rupees or about 540,000 rubles at the current exchange rate), but cheaper than another Hyundai subcompact crossover — Venue (from 776,900 rupees or 732,000 rubles).
