Mitsubishi ASX successor again caught by spies

In serial form, the new crossover of the Japanese brand may debut this summer. In some places, models predict a one and a half liter engine.

The first shots with the upcoming Mitsubishi SUV were posted on the Web in February of this year. And here is a new paparazzi catch: these photos were taken in Vietnam, they were replicated by many local media, among which was AutoPro. Recall that the crossover will become the serial embodiment of the Mitsubishi XFC concept, which debuted in the fall of 2022. It is assumed that the commercial SUV will be positioned as the next generation ASX (“new” ASX for Europe is not taken into account, because it is an almost one hundred percent clone of the Renault Captur), or as a direct successor.

So, the radiator grille will no longer have a mosaic pattern, luminous elements will be removed from the bumpers, ordinary mirrors will be installed instead of cameras, and handles will appear on the doors. Dimensions are still unknown. For comparison, the length of the current global Mitsubishi ASX is 4365 mm, the wheelbase is 2670 mm. >The spies have not yet managed to look into the salon. Most likely, the serial crossover will get a scoreboard, like the XFC concept, that is, the combined virtual tidy and touchscreen of the multimedia system.

Mitsubishi did not talk about the technology of the show car. In Southeast Asia, a conveyor SUV is tipped to have a four-cylinder “aspirated” gasoline 1.5 (power not disclosed). Subsequently, the cross may also receive a hybrid version.

According to unofficial data, a new serial SUV Mitsubishi — well, or a version close to production — will be presented at the Indonesian Motor Show, which will start operating in the first half of August.

Note that the Japanese brand has not officially announced its withdrawal from the Russian market. But production in Kaluga after the start of the well-known events is not carried out, there are obviously no deliveries of new cars either (not counting parallel imports). In addition, at the time of publication of the news, the local Mitsubishi website was not functioning.
