The 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan will receive several upgrades for the 2024 model year that will increase power and range, according to the German automaker, according to British publication Autocar. According to a source in the UK, Mercedes-Benz will carry out an upgrade to the vehicle's power electronics, which will increase the EQS 450 4Matic's output by 27 hp. (up to 355 hp) and the EQS 580 4Matic will get an increase of 20 hp. up to 536 hp
After the power increase, the EQS sedan will have the same power ratings as the EQS SUV in similar variants.
In addition, all-wheel drive variants of the luxury four-door sedan will be equipped with a Disengagement Unit (DCU) that allows the front-wheel drive to be disengaged with a light touch of the gas pedal for increased efficiency.
As a result, the EQS 450 4Matic gets an extra 22.5km added to its nominal range of 590- 720 km. The EQS 580 4Matic version will get an additional 26km to its total range.
Other updates to the 2024 EQS sedan include a heat pump instead of the earlier installation of a conventional air compressor, which does not affect range figures, but Mercedes-Benz claims that its lower power consumption and higher efficiency will lead to improvements in fuel economy and range across the range.
In addition, the EQS 53 AMG 4Matic+ will receive a more powerful 22kW on-board charger as standard, which will replace the current 11 kW unit offered on model year 2023 vehicles.
