Ford Teases E-Tourneo Courier Teaser Ahead of Imminent Premiere

The American company plans to fully declassify the «green» passenger van early next week.

Ford in At the beginning of March last year, it announced the decision to split in two: now one division is developing new cars with internal combustion engines, the second is working on new electric vehicles of the American brand. The first was given the name Ford Blue, it was headed by Kumar Galhotra (previously held the chair of the company's vice president). The second, named the Ford Model e, is run by Jim Farley, who remains Ford's CEO.

A little later, the company declassified its plans regarding the development strategy in Europe (remains the second market for the brand after the USA). So, Ford plans to sell over 600 thousand electric vehicles a year in the Old World by 2026: this will require a significant expansion of the “green” line. The company promised that by 2024, three new passenger electric vehicles and four commercial ones should enter the market. By the way, some of them have already made their debut: for example, in the second half of March, an electric Ford Explorer for Europe was presented for Europe, based on the Volkswagen MEB modular platform.

Last month, the new Ford Transit Courier and its all-electric version were unveiled. Very soon, the American manufacturer will present another «green» commercial novelty for Europe, its role will be played by the Ford E-Tourneo Courier. It is known that this green passenger van will be completely declassified at the beginning of next week, May 15. So far, the company has decided to tease fans of the model with a teaser of the future novelty.

Visually, the front of the E-Tourneo Courier will obviously not differ from the electric van version. Judging by the photo, the new electric model will receive the same plug with a pattern in the form of divergent cells in place of the traditional radiator grille, as well as a similar head optics with a pattern of running lights in the form of a pair of boomerangs in each headlight (they are interconnected by a thin luminous strip).< br />

The vertical blocks with “foglights” are designed in the same way, the lower part of the front bumper of the Ford E-Tourneo Courier with a silver lining under the air intake looks somewhat different: it is possible that the teaser shows a version of the passenger van called Active.

Previously, photo spies have already caught a modification of a new van with an internal combustion engine (and without a prefix in the form of the letter “E”). Judging by those pictures, the model will have sliding rear doors, a flat roof, as well as a relatively simple design with vertical taillights. We will know about other details after the official presentation.

The interior of the passenger version will probably be approximately the same as the previously presented van. This means the presence of a 12-inch digital “tidy” and a touchscreen infotainment system of the same diagonal. In addition, the model will receive a similar steering «wheel», flattened at the top and bottom (this design is designed to increase the driver's legroom).

The electric passenger van will most likely have the same equipment like the Ford E-Transit Courier: we are talking about a 136-horsepower electric motor located on the front axle. It is known that the maximum speed of the van is limited at around 145 km/h, and there is no data on battery capacity and range on a single charge yet.
