The bright red socks worn by Rishi Sunak during his visit to Japan sold out after they were featured in local media.
Premier the minister staged a run in the style of the Princess of Wales after being seen wearing £8 socks. with the logo of the Hiroshima baseball team, Toyo Karp.
He wore them at a restaurant where he met Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Thursday evening.
Early the next morning, all the red socks were sold out in all sock stores in the Hiroshima area. The socks have also sold out online.

Satoko Murai, designer in charge of the product, told local media, «It's like a dream that you can send out into the world and I can't stop shaking.»
< p>“I'm so shocked that I didn't sleep well today. I'm also happy that the people of Hiroshima are happy with the design.»
She said that no orders or requests from the British side came in advance, and «we don't know when they were received.»
