Another Camry-substitute: the Dongfeng Shine Max sedan is going to Russia

Specs for the Russian version have not yet been announced. In native China, a rather large «four-door» is now available with a 1.5-liter turbo engine, a hybrid is also presented there.

After the beginning of the well-known events, Dongfeng, along with JAC, began to play an important role in our market. So, the range of the Russian brand Evolute, created last year, consists mainly of Dongfeng models (more precisely, his sub-brands), in addition, we have a full complement of premium brand Voyah (well, Jacks, if anyone forgot, are revived Muscovites) . Meanwhile, the parent company is also preparing a novelty: the local office of Dongfeng has announced a sedan. At home, this “four-door” is called Yixuan Max (there it is presented under the subsidiary brand Aeolus), but for the Russian Federation they chose a more digestible name — Shine Max. The sedan has already appeared on Dongfeng's Russian consumer website, but so far without a description or characteristics.

Recall that the model debuted in the Celestial Empire in 2021, it is built on the DSMA (Dongfeng Superior Modular Architecture) platform, which, although declared as an independent development, is in fact a legally modernized CMP (Common Modular Platform) trolley of the Stellantis concern.

The exterior features of Dongfeng Shine Max are a massive radiator grille with additional chrome inserts along the edges, aggressive bumpers and taillights made in the form of a single die. Inside, there are separate screens for the dashboard and multimedia system (the last touchscreen is turned towards the driver), air deflectors hidden in one line (pass over the front panel), a thin sensor strip responsible for climate control and a central tunnel with a «basement». In China, the sedan still has surround view cameras, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist.

The Chinese can also purchase a hybrid with an installation based on a 1.5 turbo engine (163 hp), the total return is 177 hp. and the same 300 Nm. It's front-wheel drive anyway.
