British company JLR and its sports division JLR Special Vehicles have unveiled the top version of the third-generation Range Rover Sport SV SUV. The Range Rover Sport SV Edition One launch will be a limited edition and available for purchase by invitation only, with a minimum price of £169,000.
The most «charged» Range Rover Sport is now called SV, not SVR, but it is still the most powerful and fastest in the range. Under the hood is a 4.4-liter BMW V8 biturbo engine with a mild hybrid makeweight (starter-generator), maximum output is 635 hp. and 750 Nm, the starter-alternator briefly increases the torque to 800 Nm. Gearbox — 8-speed hydromechanical «automatic» ZF. The drive, of course, is only full, like all versions of the third generation Range Rover Sport. Range Rover Sport SV accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (96.56 km/h) in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 290 km/h.
Chassis compared to other versions of the Range Rover Sport is comprehensively and significantly modernized. In the SV version, it is called 6D Dynamics: hydraulic cylinders have been added to the standard adaptive air suspension, replacing anti-roll bars and allowing almost complete suppression of longitudinal and transverse rolls. In addition, new suspension arms and a new rear subframe have been installed, the steering has become sharper (the gear ratio of the rack has been changed), the wheel alignment angles have been changed, the track has been expanded, the ground clearance has been reduced by 10-25 mm, depending on the driving mode involved, the driving modes have been added the most «driver» SV.

Standard tires are Michelin Pilot Sport all-weather tires, 4 dimensions 285/40 R 23 at the front and 305/35 R 23 at the rear. The brakes are reinforced, the front compound discs are equipped with 8-piston Brembo calipers. The curb weight of the SV version in the basic equipment is 2560 kg, but it can be reduced with the help of options: for the first time on the Range Rover, carbon-ceramic brakes (-34 kg from the standard weight) and carbon-fiber rims (-35.6 kg) are offered for a surcharge. With carbon wheels and brakes, the Range Rover Sport SV can achieve 1.1g of lateral g-force, not bad for a heavy, tall SUV.

For a surcharge, extended carbon fiber decor is available, both outside and in the cabin.

The main feature of the cabin of the SV version is new seats with integral head restraints (including those in the second row), the front ones are supplemented with the BASS (Body and Soul Seat) system from the Canadian company Subpack, which specializes in the development of wearable audio systems: several speakers and resonators are built right into the backs of the seats, they allow you to literally feel the music with your body and even, according to the developers, improve the psycho-emotional and physical well-being of a person — the greatest benefit is achieved when listening to six specially prepared audio tracks that can be found in the menu of the multimedia system.
In total, Meridian's stock 1430-watt audio system consists of 29 speakers. Other interior highlights of the SV version include a plumper steering wheel with translucent paddle shifters for manual gear selection, black ceramic trim on the center tunnel and selector lever, and special LED décor.

The total run of the Range Rover Sport SV in the launch version of Edition One has not been named (in the UK, according to Autocar magazine, there will be 550 such cars), but this does not matter, because it will not go on free sale — Edition One will be offered only to selected customers by special invitation, and for everyone, the sports utility vehicle will be available only next year.
