The new product of the Italian brand, part of the auto giant Stellantis, is expected to appear in 2027. This “green” SUV will likely be based on the STLA Large platform.
Stellantis set Alfa Romeo management the task of achieving profitability, as a result of which the premium Italian brand had to partially refocus on the development of electric vehicles and also pay more attention The segment that is now in demand among the mass audience is the SUV. This is how the Alfa Romeo Tonale crossover appeared, which already has a twin – the Dodge Hornet (the American brand also belongs to the auto giant).

Alfa Romeo does not plan to stop there: last spring information appeared about the “younger brother” of the Tonale, which could share the STLA Small platform and technology with the Jeep Avenger (and that brand is part of Stellantis). Moreover, it was then assumed that the compact new product would occupy an empty niche in which the three-door MiTo hatchback had previously been located.
Another new Alfa Romeo product could be a large all-electric crossover, which will take the place of the brand's flagship SUV. The British Autocar reports about the future addition to the model range with reference to the general director of the brand, Jean-Philippe Imparato. The company is keeping the name of the new crossover a secret for now.

According to the publication, the large Alfa Romeo SUV will be based on the STLA Large platform intended only for electric vehicles. Let us remind you that large models will be based on this “trolley”, which will be produced under the premium Stellantis brands: we are talking not only about Alfa Romeo, but also about Maserati, DS, Lancia.
It is expected that the as-yet unnamed new product will have an 800 V electrical system and an ultra-fast charging function for the traction battery. As the publication notes, as a result, in 30 minutes the battery can be replenished to the level necessary to cover a path of about 500 miles (more than 800 km), provided that powerful chargers are used for this.
< p>There is no exact information about the technology of the large crossover yet. It is possible that the top version of the new product with the addition of Quadrifoglio to the name may be equipped with a power plant of three electric motors. The total output of such a system will most likely exceed 1000 hp.

Flagship Alfa Romeo's electric crossover will likely arrive in 2027. As Jean-Philippe Imparato noted, the model will also be sold in Europe, but the priority markets for this SUV will be the States and China. It is expected that this new product from the Italian brand will compete with the already presented BMW iX and Lotus Eletre, as well as the next generation Porsche Cayenne in development and the future Alpine model.
