Racing 92 blame Tom Curry's 'brutal' unarmed tackle on Josua Tuisova in England's match against Fiji on Sunday caused the center to be ruled out due to injury.
Tuisova received medical treatment on the pitch during the World Cup quarter-finals after a low tackle on Curry, who was penalized for an unarmed tackle in the 18th minute of the match, but continued to play until replaced by Yosefo Masi in the 72nd minute.
On Tuesday, Racing took the unusual step of citing a «vicious off-hand tackle from England No. 7» as the cause of Tuisova's left knee injury in a press release that confirmed Tuisova's absence with no expected return date.
Tuisova is now set to meet with specialists at the next few days to determine the extent of his injury, and his club wishes him a speedy recovery.
Curry was fined by referee Mathieu Raynal at the time, and TV match official Ben Whitehouse also reviewed the incident and both sides agreed not to further punish the England flanker.
