The Korean brand presented its restyled SUV for the North American market at the launch of the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Kia declassified the updated Sorento crossover back in August of this year. During the restyling, the model received changes in appearance and interior in accordance with the current corporate style of the Korean brand. Now, an SUV destined for North American markets has debuted. Moreover, the local lineup will also include a so-called “off-road” version, which received the addition of X-Pro to the name.

During the restyling, the Kia Sorento received a new front design with “fanged” LED headlights in the style of the EV9 electric crossover, and in the “standard” version they were supplemented with amber running lights. Also, the refreshed model has a different front bumper and a different radiator grille with a pattern of large cells, which has lost its brand name (the logo has moved higher, to the edge of the hood). The stern was updated with a different rear bumper and modified lights, now they have a “U-shaped” shape. The exterior color palette now includes Midnight Lake Blue and Dawning Red.

During the restyling, the crossover interior was equipped with a different front panel with a large curved screen, which combines a virtual instrument panel and a touchscreen of the ccNC (Connected Car Navigation Cockpit) infotainment system, the diagonal of each display is 12.3 inches. The refreshed Sorento has a different climate control unit and horizontally located central air vents.

In the North American market, the range of the refreshed crossover includes naturally aspirated and turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines. In the first case, the output is 194 hp and the maximum torque is 245 Nm; It's paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In turn, the power of the turbo engine is 285 hp. (421 Nm), comes complete with 8DCT. Drive – front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The Kia Sorento has a 2024 model year with The addition of the X-Pro differs from the “regular” versions: this crossover received 17-inch wheels, shod with a set of massive BF Goodrich off-road tires. The interior of these cars has X-Pro emblems. One of the main differences of this crossover is the increased load capacity (more than 1814 kg); the X-Pro version can tow a travel trailer on a hill without any problems.

The list of equipment includes: collision avoidance system with ahead and oncoming traffic, pedestrians, cyclists (including when turning left at an intersection), hold function cars in the lane, “smart” cruise control that adapts to the driver’s driving style, an assistant when driving on the highway with an automatic lane change function, as well as all-round cameras.
Restyled Kia crossover The Sorento will go on sale in the US market in the first quarter of 2024, in the list of trim levels — LX, S, EX, SX and SX-P, the top version is available in the X-Pro variant. Prices will be announced later. The Sorento HEV and PHEV hybrid versions will hit dealerships later next year for the 2025 model year.
