The premiere of new products from the Japanese brand, intended primarily for the Chinese market, took place at the Guangzhou Motor Show that opened today.
Honda's «Celestial» division is heading towards the electrification of the local model range: as part of this strategy, the manufacturer showed several concepts at the Shanghai Auto Show, which took place last spring. Based on a couple of them, the Japanese manufacturer has created production cars: we are talking about twin crossovers Honda e:NS2 and e:NP2.

These “green” SUVs have several differences in appearance, but technically they are identical to each other. The Geminis are produced at two different Honda joint ventures in China — the e:NS2 crossover is produced in a joint venture with Dongfeng, and the e:NP2 is produced in a joint venture with GAC. It is worth noting that this practice is not uncommon in the Chinese car market. The Chinese division of Honda noted that the S in the name stands for Spirit, and the P stands for Prime.

The two new coupe-shaped crossovers are based on the e:N Architecture F platform developed by Honda, which is designed for “green” cars. Note that Honda e:NS2 and e:NP2 have relatives with a traditional body type — Honda e:NS1 and e:NP1 (these SUVs have already entered the Chinese market).

The production versions of Honda SUVs differ little from the prototypes, except that the cameras on the sides have been replaced with regular exterior mirrors, the retractable door handles have become more noticeable, and the design of the head optics also looks different. The list of differences between e:NS2 and e:NP2 includes the design of the rear lights and headlights, which are connected to each other by a luminous strip, while in the first SUV the line runs along the lower border, in the center there is a logo, and in the second crossover — along the upper edge, above the luminous emblem.
In the interior of the SUV you can see a multifunction steering wheel “flattened” on both sides, a horizontally elongated digital instrument panel and a large (12.8-inch diagonal) free-standing tablet for the infotainment system. Under the touchscreen there is a niche for wireless charging of smartphones, and between the front seats you can see the automatic transmission joystick.

As we already mentioned, the technology of these all-electric crossovers is identical. There is no official information about the “filling” yet; the local office intends to share technical details closer to the start of production, which is scheduled for early 2024. According to preliminary data, Honda e:NS2 and e:NP2 will be equipped with a single 204-horsepower electric motor located on the front axle, as well as a traction battery with a capacity of 68.8 kWh. The range on a single charge is likely to be around 510 km.

According to the company's strategy, after 2027, all models produced by Honda in China will be either hybrids or electric vehicles. By the same date, the manufacturer plans to launch a dozen new completely “green” cars on the market. The brand intends to switch to producing exclusively electric cars in 2035.
