MURMANSK, December 6Investigators in the Arkhangelsk region detained the head of one of the departments of the administration of the regional capital on suspicion of receiving a bribe in the amount of more than a million rubles when concluding contracts for the installation of ice crossings, the regional Sustainable Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation reported.
«According to the investigation, from 2021 to November 2023, an administration employee received bribes from individual entrepreneurs for the smooth conclusion and execution of municipal contracts for the construction and maintenance of a number of ice crossings,» the report says.
As the department noted, according to preliminary data, the total amount of illegally obtained monetary compensation amounted to more than a million rubles.
The case was initiated on three counts under paragraph «c» of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe in the form of money on a large scale by an official), cases were also initiated against two individual entrepreneurs under p. «b» part 4 art. 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (giving a bribe to an official on a large scale).
Searches were carried out in the case, documentation was seized, the investigation will petition the court to select a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to the detainee.
The message from the Investigative Committee does not name the exact position and surname of the detainee, but, as a source in the region’s emergency services said, we are talking about the head of the transport and road management department, Alexei Kalashnikov.
