MOSCOW, December 18 Uzbekistan supports Russia’s initiative to hold the “Intervision” song competition for the CIS countries, Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov said on Monday.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, speaking on Monday at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS, said that the first “Intervision” is planned to be held in 2024 in Russia. According to him, together with the partners, the rules of the competition will be determined, a permanent organizing committee will be formed and national juries will be selected.
“We support the initiative of Russian partners to hold the international popular song competition “Intervision,” Aripov said at the council meeting.
Aripov noted that Uzbekistan intends to continue to “match” the successful implementation of joint programs and cultural projects in the cultural and humanitarian sphere of the Commonwealth.
«The coming year promises to be no less interesting in terms of cultural relations. Taking this opportunity, I would again like to express my gratitude to our partners for supporting the decision to declare the city of Samarkand the cultural capital of the Commonwealth. We hope for the active participation of representatives of the CIS countries in the week of culture, art and cinema of the Commonwealth countries this coming spring,” said the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan.
He added that Uzbekistan has also begun preparing a busy program of events in Tashkent, declared the youth capital of the Commonwealth in 2024 year.
