A little over a month ago, the budget Hilux Champ pickup truck premiered. We decided to present it in off-road tuning, typical of the creations of the well-known Arctic Trucks studio in Russia.
The Toyota Hilux Champ pickup truck presented last November is a production version of the IMV 0 concept (the name stands for Innovative International Multi -purpose Vehicle Zero) a year ago. The project is aimed primarily at developing markets, so the premiere location for the new product was Thailand, where such cars are especially popular.

Hilux Champ received the most simple and functional body, and one of the main features of the pickup truck is very small wheels (standard size — 14 inches), which again was done to reduce the cost of the model. This is where tuning in the Arctic Trucks style comes to the rescue. The truck presented in the renderings has a significantly increased ground clearance, not least thanks to large wheels with high-profile tires. Such wheels also require enlarging the wheel arches and installing extensions. In addition, the pickup truck received a snorkel (a device in the form of a pipe with an air intake for operating the engine under water), installed along the windshield pillar, sills, modified side walls and additional lighting equipment in the front.

The Hilux Champ has a frame structure, the front suspension is independent spring on double wishbones, the rear is dependent leaf spring. Ventilated disc brakes are installed at the front, drum brakes at the rear. The pickup truck is largely structurally unified with the larger Hilux model, and the engine range is also taken from it: naturally aspirated petrol 2.0 (139 hp, 183 Nm) and 2.7 (166 hp, 245 Nm), as well as diesel 2.4 ( 150 hp, 400 Nm). Hybrid and all-electric powertrains are expected in the future.

Meanwhile, in the past month, the new Toyota Sequoia SUV in the Arctic Trucks version was presented.
