MOSCOW, January 15 Nothing illegal was found in the statements of the director of the Pushkin Museum Likhacheva about Stalin, said in the response of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow with reference to psychological and linguistic examination at the request of State Duma deputy Mikhail Matveev.
In an earlier interview with RTVI, Likhacheva expressed the opinion that Stalin in Russia is a subject of pop culture, and can be compared to the Disney character Mickey Mouse. According to her, disputes about Stalin distract Russian citizens from real problems. After this, deputies of the State Duma from the Communist Party faction sent a statement to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, with a request to open a case against Likhacheva for insulting Joseph Stalin.

Matveev noted in a conversation with that a psychological and linguistic examination will be carried out regarding the statement of the director of the Pushkin Museum Elizaveta Likhacheva about Joseph Stalin. Matveev explained that the appeal was not submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but the answer came from the specified department. “Nothing illegal was found in the statements of the director of the Pushkin Museum Likhacheva about Stalin, “he died” and “we washed him away.” Such conclusions are contained in the response of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow to my request with reference to a psychological and linguistic examination,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.

The State Duma earlier, at one of its plenary sessions, rejected a protocol order from State Duma deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, which was drawn up after Likhacheva’s statement; the purpose of the order was to request from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation criteria according to which candidates for the position of heads of federal museums are selected.
Deputy from Communist Party of the Russian Federation Denis Parfenov reported earlier that he had received a response from the Ministry of Culture to his request for criteria for selecting candidates for the positions of museum directors, made after a statement by the head of the Pushkin Museum Elizaveta Likhacheva about Joseph Stalin, but the response was labeled “For official use” (DSP). Deputy Parfenov appealed to the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova with a request to provide the criteria according to which candidates for the position of heads of federal museums are selected.
