Jeep is preparing for the premiere of the Wagoneer S crossover: new teaser and sales start date

The electric SUV of the American brand will receive a 608-horsepower unit. It will take 3.5 seconds to accelerate from zero to “hundreds.”

The Jeep brand is part of the portfolio of the auto giant Stellantis, whose main goal is to achieve profitability for all its brands. This implies an expansion of their model range, Jeep is no exception. In the fall of 2022, the brand spoke about its plans for electric vehicles and presented several new products. Then the serial Avenger SUV debuted, and the Recon SUV and the Jeep Wagoneer S crossover appeared as concepts.

Later, the model will reach other key markets for the brand; in particular, in 2025, the Wagoneer S is scheduled to appear at dealers in Europe.

Note that the brand continues to use the name Jeep Wagoneer S for now, although it was previously reported that this name is a working name created specifically for the concept. Moreover, initially the creators of the new product explained that the letter S hints at “sexiness, speed and stunning design.” What the final name of the production model will be will be known later.

It is assumed that the purely electric Jeep crossover will be based on the STLA Large platform, which belongs to Stellantis, although the manufacturer has not yet confirmed this information. At the same time, the company has already published a number of technical data. Thus, it is known that the range of the SUV on one charge will be about 644 km (400 miles), while the capacity of the traction battery has not yet been disclosed.

As previously reported, the Jeep Wagoneer S will have all-wheel drive, the model will be equipped with a dual-motor power plant (one electric motor on each axle), its total output will be about 608 hp. This SUV takes 3.5 seconds to accelerate from zero to “hundreds” (up to 96.6 km/h). It is known that this model will not have versions with an internal combustion engine.

The production version will probably borrow a lot of its design from the concept. Wagoneer S was previously called the most “glamorous Jeep” in the entire history of the brand, this conclusion was led by the rounded lines of the body and narrow-shaped head optics that correspond to current trends. Visually, the show car is similar to the British crossovers of the Range Rover family. There is no information about the interior of the new product yet, we only know that it will be designed for five riders. It is expected that the new product of the American brand will compete with the BMW iX for customers (this electric crossover debuted in the summer of 2021).

We would like to remind you that this year the Jeep Recon mid-size electric SUV promises to join the model line. It is expected that this model will become a “green” alternative to the “hydrocarbon” frame SUV Jeep Wrangler. As previously reported, the model will have a twin-engine power plant, which in the starting Sport version will collectively produce over 400 hp, and in the top version Moab the output will be about 600 hp.
