MOSCOW, March 18Honored Artist of Russia Maxim Averin, at his farewell to People's Artist of Russia, President of the Satire Theater Alexander Shirvindt, noted that he would like the walls of the famous theater to preserve the memory of the great man.
Shirvindt died on March 15 at the age of 90. The farewell ceremony for the artist takes place at the Satire Theater. After this, the artist’s body is cremated. The urn with his ashes will be buried at the capital's Novodevichy cemetery, the date will be chosen by the family.
“I would really like these walls of the famous theater to preserve the memory of a great man… I think that now these amazing guys are there: Mark Zakharov, Misha Derzhavin — they all gathered, look at us, smile and say: “Don’t let us down, guys,» Averin said at the farewell ceremony.
Shirvindt was born on July 19, 1934 in Moscow. After graduating from the Shchukin Theater School in 1956, he was accepted into the troupe of the Lenin Komsomol Theater (now Lenkom Mark Zakharov). Shirvindt from 1970 he served at the Satire Theater, from 2000 to 2021 he was the artistic director of the theater, and became its president in 2021. In addition, the actor taught at the B. V. Shchukin Theater Institute.Shirvindt is widely known for his roles in movies, including such films as “The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!”, “Three in a Boat, Not Counting the Dog,” “Circus Princess” and others.
