A pre-reform SUV has been registered in a neighboring country. There the model will be offered with a non-alternative one and a half liter naturally aspirated engine. The cross will go on sale in April.
The private ADM Jizzakh plant located in Uzbekistan announced the start of mass production of the Kia Sonet compact crossover. It is reported that the SUV has become the first model of the Korean brand, which is made there in a full cycle — with welding and painting of the body. The company also produces other Kia cars, as well as Chery, but this is a “screwdriver” assembly (plans include launching the production of Haval cars). The company also stated that the launch of press production is planned for 2025. The plant is designed to produce approximately 100,000 cars per year.
At the end of last year, the Kia Sonet SUV underwent a restyling, however, in Uzbekistan they are making the pre-reform model. Let us remind you that the five-door is also produced in other countries — for example, in India and Vietnam. The Uzbek plant probably prescribed a global version, that is, 4120 mm long (the Indian version is 3995 mm). Wheelbase – 2500 mm.

Our neighbors will be offered the crossover with a 1.5 naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine producing 115 hp, which is combined with a six-speed manual or CVT. The Kia Sonet only comes with front-wheel drive.
The trim levels have not yet been revealed. In other markets, the model includes climate control, a multimedia system with an 8-inch or 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging, a rear view camera and cruise control.
In Uzbekistan, the Kia Sonet is predicted to have a starting price tag of 200 million soums — this is approximately 1.46 million rubles according to current rate. For comparison, the older Kia Seltos crossover now costs from 379.9 million soums (about 2.8 million rubles). The official price list will be published in April, and sales will begin then.
