On February 29, the decision of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission came into force, which approved the updated lists of standards for the technical regulation of the Customs Union 005/2011 “On the safety of packaging.” Now packaging is subject to mandatory declaration of conformity before release into circulation.
The declaration is registered in the national part of the Unified Register (FSIS FSA) in the manner approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated June 19, 2021 No. 936 and can be issued in the name of the applicant. This person can be the manufacturer, seller or official representative of the manufacturer. The official document is accepted for five years. It is important that the document for the batch does not indicate a validity period; it is valid only for products from a specific batch.
The updated list of standards for safety requirements for packaging included 239 GOSTs, and the second (for test methods) included 336 GOSTs. Now the updated list of packaging safety consists of 158 standards. It includes 154 interstate and 4 national standards. Another 233 standards approve test methods: 176 interstate, 15 Belarusian, 9 Kazakhstani, 13 Russian and 13 departmental.
Unified requirements for packaging and closures released to the EAEU market are determined by technical regulations Customs Union. Any products for packaging, storage, transportation of raw materials and finished products are packaging. And products intended for closing packaging are used with closures. These can be dispensers, lids, plugs.
The list of TR CU 005/2011 includes polymer materials (polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, polyethylene, etc.), all types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their alloys, transparent or colored glass, wood, ceramics, combined materials, paper and cardboard, textile and non-woven materials.
Packaging is checked for safety according to such indicators as sanitary and hygienic, mechanical, chemical resistance, tightness.
