The Hongqi H9 sedan, available in Russia, received restyling and all-wheel drive: official photos

The luxury four-door has changed both outside and inside. In addition, the engine range was shaken up at home.

In spy photos, the restyled Hongqi H9 sedan (the Hongqi premium brand is owned by the Chinese concern FAW) was revealed at the end of 2023, then there were certification photos from the local Ministry of Industry. Well, now the first official images have been published. Let us remind you that the H9 model has been available in China since 2020, and last year it began to be sold legally on the Russian market.

The four-door retained the Rolls-Royce-style radiator grille and double-decker headlights. However, the daytime running lights located on top now have a different LED filling (like the smaller Hongqi H5 sedan), and the main headlight units have become larger. The flagship also received new bumpers, in addition to modernizing the exposed exhaust pipes. Dimensions are generally the same: length – 5137 mm, width – 1904 mm, height – 1498 mm, wheelbase – 3060 mm.

The brand itself has not yet demonstrated the interior, but we have already seen it in spyshots. Inside there is a new front panel, door cards, virtual instrument panel and multimedia system (its screen now rises above the panel, whereas the pre-reform sedan had a tablet built into it).

According to the certificate, in China the Hongqi H9 will be offered with a new 1.8 petrol turbo-four with a capacity of 224 hp. and a V6 2.5 turbo engine with 303 hp output. The top-end V6 3.0T will also remain in service, but its power will increase from 283 to 337 hp. And on the rear of the restyled model you can see the HQ-4WD badge: therefore, the sedan has acquired an all-wheel drive version, while the pre-reform four-door is only available with rear wheel drive. Well, it is possible that the flagship will be electrified one way or another.

We remind you that the previous sedan also has a 2.0 turbo engine (252 hp .), which is supplemented by a 48-volt starter-generator. There is no information about the boxes of the updated model. The pre-restyling H9 is equipped with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches.

The modernized sedan may make its public premiere at the Beijing Auto Show, which will open at the end of April. Our previous Hongqi H9 is presented only with 2.0T, the recommended price is from 7,790,000 rubles. Probably, a restyled four-door will also be brought to us.
