The Russian company will begin production of the commercial version of e-Largus electric vehicles later: the start is scheduled for the third quarter of this year.
< p>The Lada Largus is based on the first generation Dacia Logan MCV; production of this model started in 2012 at the AVTOVAZ Tolyatti plant. Largus, produced in van, passenger station wagon and cross-version versions of the latter, underwent restyling in 2021, but already in the spring of 2022, the production of all Lada models was “paused” due to a shortage of components. Later, the Russian company decided to move Largus production to the Izhevsk site.

As AVTOVAZ reported, serial production of the Lada Largus will start at the plant in Izhevsk in the middle of next month, on May 15. Let us remind you that the production of a pilot batch of vans started in the second half of February, and a few days later they were joined by “trial” passenger station wagons. Note that it is still unknown with what price tag Largus will return to the Russian market: the cost will be announced closer to the start of sales.

At the plant in Izhevsk, it is later planned to start production of a fully electric version of the model — Lada e-Largus: for now the company is adhering to the previously announced deadline — the start is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. It is reported that at the time of the launch of the “green” Largus into the series, the share of Russian components in the model will be more than 50%. As Autonews reports with reference to AVTOVAZ representatives, pre-production samples of the e-Largus have already been sent for testing.

Previously, Maxim Sokolov noted that the number of copies of the “green” version released will depend on the volume of demand and the availability of government support measures. He also added that the price of e-Largus will be comparable to non-localized Chinese electric vehicles, but the head of AVTOVAZ has not yet indicated an indicative price tag.
The Lada Largus engine line includes four-cylinder engines with a volume of 1.6 liters: the eight-valve version has an output of 90 hp, and the power of a sixteen-valve version is 106 hp. They are paired with a five-speed manual transmission. In turn, the Lada e-Largus was equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, its rated power is 50 kW, and its short-term peak power is 120 kW. The lithium-ion battery (the capacity is still kept secret) is divided into two modules — one is located in the engine compartment, the second is under the floor of the body, where the gas tank is located in cars with internal combustion engines.
Recall that in mid-January, the head of the Udmurt Republic, Alexander Brechalov, said that, according to the manufacturer’s plan, by the end of this year the plant in Izhevsk will produce up to 50 thousand copies of the model ( all modifications).
Meanwhile, AVTOVAZ continues to introduce new versions of its models to the market: last month, the Lada Vesta family was expanded with a version with a 122-horsepower engine and a CVT. By the way, the Kolesa.ru correspondent has already tested this car.
