Production of models of the young Russian brand has been established at the former Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg, which is now owned by AGR LLC.
The production of four models of the “newly created” Solaris brand started at the AGR Automobile Plant LLC at the end of February this year. The current model range includes a pair of sedans — Solaris HS (formerly Hyundai Solaris) and KRS (Kia Rio with a different logo), the “raised” hatchback Solaris KRX (formerly Kia Rio X), as well as the compact crossover Solaris HC (“donor” — Hyundai Creta).

The press service of AGR Automobile Plant LLC noted that the total number of employees of the company is about 800 people.

It is known that Solaris cars will begin to be sold in the brand's showrooms in May of this year. The company has now published recommended retail prices for the brand’s models. The starting price of the Solaris HS sedan is 2,010,000 rubles. For this money you can get a four-door with a 100-horsepower 1.4-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine (maximum torque 132 Nm), which is paired with a six-speed manual. For the version with a 123-horsepower 1.6-liter engine (151 Nm), included with a manual gearbox, they ask for at least 2,013,000 rubles.
The most affordable option with a six-speed automatic transmission (and a “junior” engine) costs 2,016,000 rubles, and with a 123-horsepower option – 2,019,000 rubles. The price of the top version of this sedan is 2,170,000 rubles.

The Solaris KRS sedan is presented only with the “older” 1.6-liter engine and offered with a non-alternative automatic transmission. The recommended retail price of this model varies from 2,038,000 to 2,177,000 rubles.
The Solaris KRX cross-hatchback is also equipped exclusively with a 123-horsepower engine, equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The five-door is available in five trim levels. According to the official price list, the cost range of the model is from 2,064,000 to 2,345,000 rubles.

Another “new product” — the Solaris HC crossover — can have front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The model lineup includes two 1.6-liter gasoline engines with a capacity of 121 (148 Nm) and 123 hp. (151 Nm). Both engines have both manual and automatic options, but not in all trim levels. So the most affordable is the front-wheel drive Solaris HC with a 123-horsepower engine and automatic transmission; they ask for it from 2,499,000 rubles. The cheapest all-wheel drive will cost 2,517,000 rubles (121 hp and manual). The cost of the top version of the crossover is 2,817,000 rubles (121 hp, automatic transmission and automatic).
Judging by the Agr.auto website, in the future the model may have versions with a 2.0-liter 150-horsepower engine; they are not in the price list yet.
