Vice Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Boris Chernyshov commented on the bill, which provides for exemption from criminal liability for the person who committed a crime when concluding a contract with the RF Armed Forces during the Northern Military District. In a conversation with “360”, the deputy said that, in his opinion, there are two points that indicate the justification of the adoption of such a law.

According to Chernyshov, “there are restrictions — especially serious and serious crimes are not covered” under the law.

“The second point is that they are not generals and do not stand on general’s bridges,” said the deputy. “They become stormtroopers and go where it’s very hot.”

The parliamentarian believes that people who have committed a crime “atone for their sin, their mistake with their blood.” He also said that the cases described in the media “when criminals allegedly come and commit crimes again” are few. According to the deputy, such statistics “are isolated.”

Previously, the media have repeatedly written about the release of former convicts, including for high-profile crimes. Among the cases discussed in the press were, in particular, participation in the SVO and the release of a resident of the Perm region, who had previously killed a young woman and put her body through a meat grinder. There were also reports of victims convicted of rape and murder living in freedom. Last week it became known about the release of two members of the “Tsapkov gang”, convicted of mass murder in the village of Kushchevskaya, after participating in the SVO. Regional media also wrote about a double murder with “cutting off ears,” in which a former SVO member was allegedly suspected. In the Kremlin, commenting on cases like the release of the murderer Vera Pekhteleva, they spoke in the same vein as Deputy Chernyshov. Thus, Dmitry Peskov stated that the convicted “atone with blood” for their crimes.
