MOSCOW, April 8 American entrepreneur and billionaire, founder of SpaceX Elon Musk expects that his company will be able to deliver people to the Moon within 5 years, and to Mars within 7- 9 years.
«The first Starship to land on Mars with no people on it first, I think maybe within five years… I think we'll get people to the Moon within five years… the first people on Mars, I think in for seven years or so, seven to nine years,” Musk said in an interview on the social network X. 
He also mentioned that after being able to be on two planets, people will be able to reach other planets as well as other systems. Musk also believes that if humanity lives on different planets, it has a better chance of surviving.
Previously, Musk said that colonizing Mars would require at least one million people and several million tons of cargo, which he considers possible to deliver to the Red Planet in 20 years. According to the entrepreneur, the Mars colonization project will be implemented on the Starship 3 rocket, which is currently the latest model in the line. 
Musk noted that missions to Mars will be carried out approximately every two years. The entrepreneur also emphasized that most of the colonizers of Mars may not return back to Earth, but noted that the possibility of return must be ensured.
In September, the head of SpaceX expressed hope that within 15 years there will be a thriving base on Mars.
