The model, which can be filled with both gasoline and natural gas, is available with two boxes to choose from.
< p>The four-door BAIC U5 Plus, the size of a Kia Cerato, launched in Russia last year. Like other models of the Chinese concern, it is produced for our market by the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant. Previously, the sedan was available exclusively with a 1.5 naturally aspirated gasoline engine (105 hp), but now the range has been expanded: dealers have opened orders for the U5 Plus CNG dual-fuel modification.

The new version can be filled with both 92-octane gasoline and methane. The engine is the same, but for gas there is either one 80-liter cylinder or two — 39.1 liters each. In both cases, the cylinders are located in the trunk. “Natural gas is supplied to the engine through a gas line using an integrated fuel rail. In addition to gasoline injectors, gas injectors are installed, as well as a reducer, a filter, and a filling device,” the press service of the BAIK RUS company reported.

Equipment is being installed directly on Avtotor, so additional certification not required: the corresponding entry will be made in the model's EPTS.
Like a regular sedan, the bi-fuel BAIC U5 Plus CNG is offered in Luxury and Honor trim levels. The basic four-door is available with a five-speed manual or CVT, the second version is available only with a CVT. The U5 Plus Luxury CNG equipment list includes: halogen headlights, 16-inch wheels, heated windshield washer nozzles, heated front seats, air conditioning, a multimedia system with a 12.3-inch screen, rear parking sensors, a rear view camera, front airbags and ESP. The Honor version includes LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, an electric sunroof, a heated windshield, a heated steering wheel, all-round cameras, side airbags, blind spot monitoring and lane marking monitoring systems. In addition, sedans with a CVT have cruise control.
According to the price list BAIC U5 Plus CNG costs from 2,240,522 to 2,410,546 rubles. A purely petrol sedan for the 2024 model year will cost 2,080,000 – 2,250,000 rubles.
