The presentation of the brand in the Russian Federation was carried out by the company MB Rus. Later, the local line of the Chinese brand will be replenished with a flagship SUV with the M9 index. Model prices will be announced later.
The fact that JSC MB Rus, part of the Avtodom group, signed a direct distribution agreement with the Seres company became known in mid-January of this year. Let us remember that it also gave exclusive rights to import and distribute AITO brand cars on the Russian market. This “celestial” brand is the result of a partnership between Huawei and Seres (Seres is a subsidiary of the Chinese corporation Sokon, created in 2016).

Now the MB Rus company (formerly Mercedes-Benz Rus) held a presentation of the Seres brand for the Russian market, during which the local premiere of the Seres M5 and M7 hybrid crossovers took place. Note that they are presented on the domestic market under the AITO brand; By the way, these cars are also available in the Russian Federation. In the future, the Seres brand line in the Russian Federation will be replenished with another model — the flagship SUV with the M9 index.

Presented in the Russian Federation under the name Seres M5, the car held its “home” premiere at the end of 2021. The model has “single-story” optics of a relatively simple form with daytime running lights in the form of “swooshes”, stampings on the hood, a pair of narrow side air ducts on the sides, as well as a large element with horizontal thin chrome lines that combines the radiator grille and the central air intake.

The second model that MB Rus is introducing to the Russian market is the Seres M7. This model is larger, with a straighter roof. This crossover has a separate small radiator grille, simple-shaped head optics, an air intake with horizontal slats, and the sides are similarly equipped with retractable door handles and conventional exterior mirrors. The interior of this all-wheel drive SUV is designed for six, has 8 airbags, and the third row of seats can fold into an almost flat floor.

The M7 has a similar hybrid system with a 1.5-liter turbo engine operating in tandem with a pair of electric motors and the same battery. In Russian specification, its total power is 439 hp, it takes 4.8 seconds to reach the first “hundred”, and the total range is 1100 km.
Sales of Seres M5 and M7 crossovers on the Russian market will begin within the next few months. Model prices will be announced later. It is known that in the future the local line of the brand will be complemented by the flagship SUV – Seres M9; official information about it will appear closer to the start of sales, which is scheduled for the second half of this year.
