The hardcore version of the Jaecoo J7 has become serial and is already on sale

True, so far the new performance is presented only in its homeland. This crossover has an even more brutal appearance, and the technology has been transferred from the standard model.

In export markets, including Russia, this model is sold as Jaecoo J7 (or Jaecoo 7). In China, it is presented under the parent brand Chery, where the SUV is called Explore 06 (aka Tansuo 06). Moreover, in its homeland, the cross has two design options — “calm” (aka global) and brutal. So now a third modification has appeared in the Middle Kingdom — the most impressive. A new version of the Secret Knight Edition has gone on sale, which grew from last year's prototype of the same name.

The hardcore Chery Explore 06 has original bumpers, massive unpainted wheel arches and running boards. There are air ducts on the hood, and an additional trunk with diode “lights” was installed on the roof. There is a box attached to the side, behind the rear left pillar. In addition, the Explore 06 Secret Knight has its own radiator grille, but the show car does not have the giant Chery inscription that was on the show car.

The length of the new version is 4552 mm, width – 1905 mm, height – 1789 mm. Dimensions of other modifications of Chery Explore 06: 4500/4538×1865/1898×1680 mm. The wheelbase and ground clearance are the same for all options — 2672 and 200 mm, respectively.

The interior is black trim with red accents, there are no other differences. The list of equipment of the new product includes a virtual tidy (10.25 inches), a multimedia system with a 13.2-inch diagonal vertical tablet, a head-up display, climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control, auto braking systems and lane keeping.

Standard engine: petrol turbo-four 1.6 TGDI with 197 hp. (290 Nm), which is paired with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. Secret Knight has all-wheel drive by default.

For the new version of Chery Explore 06 they are asking 159,900 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 2,020,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. A standard SUV in China costs from 116,900 yuan (1,477,000 rubles). At the moment there is no information about whether the Jaecoo J7 crossover will receive a similar hardcore performance.
