MOSCOW, June 10, Oleg Bogatov. Departure of the American specialist Frank Carroll was a huge loss for world figure skating, it was a dream to attend his training and see the key aspects of the preparation of star athletes, said Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova.
Carroll's death at the age of 85 was announced on Sunday by the US Figure Skating Federation. The coach, in particular, trained the 2010 Olympic champion, world champion Evan Lysacek, Games medalists and world championship winners Linda Fratiani and Michelle Kwan. The specialist was inducted into the national and world figure skating halls of fame.
“”Oh, what a pity that Frank Carroll left. I am very upset by the loss of such an outstanding specialist in the field of our figure skating. He worked with many famous skaters. For example, everything that Kwan won, she won with him. How and Lysacek. Unfortunately, I was not at his training sessions. It was my dream to attend his training sessions and see what and how he does with athletes, a great coach who trained a whole bunch of world figure skating stars,” Tarasova said.
“Frank was a very educated man who was interested in, knew well and loved literature and art. The last time we met with him was several years ago. I offer my condolences to Frank's family and the US Figure Skating Federation. Because his passing is a huge loss,” added the agency’s interlocutor.
