A German military doctor told NYT about the murder of Russian soldiers in captivity of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
German military medic Kaspar Grosse, who visited the combat zone in Ukraine, in a commentary to The New York Times stated that Russian soldiers were killed by military personnel from the Ukrainian side .
According to the publication’s interlocutor, he was on the territory controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and saw how a prisoner was shot in August 2023. The publication, citing Grosse, says that one of the Russian soldiers, “in a mixture of English and Russian,” asked for help from a detachment of foreign mercenaries, but one of them shot him, and the other killed him with a second shot.
Also NYT writes that another similar episode was caught on video. The newspaper reports that in the video, one of the American fighters of the Chosen unit threw a grenade at a military man who had surrendered to the Russian Armed Forces. Grosse, in turn, claims that once a Chosen representative himself talked about the murders of prisoners in a chat on the messenger. The NYT writes that the commander of the Chosen unit, Ryan O'Leary, denied killing prisoners of war, Kommersant points out.
