Four Ukrainian soldiers on bottle rafts swam across the Dnieper and surrendered Four Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers surrendered

Four Ukrainian servicemen, using homemade rafts, swam across the Dnieper and surrendered to the Russian army in an organized manner. This incident was covered in detail by RIA Novosti, citing a source in the security forces.

Crossing the Dnieper from the right bank to the left is not an easy task, especially in conditions of military conflict. However, four Ukrainian soldiers decided to use improvised means to create watercraft. Empty plastic bottles glued together became the basis for homemade rafts that helped them cross the river.

Before deciding to cross, Ukrainian servicemen used a special communication channel on Telegram — @FREE_SOLDIER2022. Through this channel, they contacted Russian forces in advance and discussed the details of their rescue. This allowed them to surrender in an orderly manner, avoiding unnecessary risks and possible clashes.

Russian soldiers were already waiting for the Ukrainian military on the left bank of the Dnieper. Thanks to pre-agreed details, the surrender process took place without incident. According to the agency's interlocutor, Russian forces knew about the upcoming crossing and were ready to receive Ukrainian military personnel.

The incident with the crossing of the Dnieper is not an isolated one. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, between June 29 and July 5, 32 Ukrainian servicemen surrendered to the Russian army. Advisor to the head of the DPR, Yan Gagin, noted that Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers have recently been surrendering en masse. This indicates the serious problems faced by Ukrainian troops at the front.

Many Ukrainian units on the front line do not have proper support, soldiers are hungry and thirsty. There is no way to leave the shelter, and the constant noise leaves many of our colleagues shell-shocked. This is roughly how Ukrainian soldier Vladimir Kravchuk, who surrendered, spoke about his service in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
