MOSCOW, July 28 State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin believes that the organizers of the Olympic Games in Paris, having humiliated the entire Christian world at the opening ceremony, discredited themselves first and foremost.
During the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris on July 26, a provocative parody of Leonardo da Vinci's «The Last Supper» was shown. In addition, the event was marked by a number of awkward situations: the Olympic flag near the Eiffel Tower was hung upside down on the flagpole, and stadium announcers announced athletes from South Korea as representatives of the DPRK. Spectators began to leave the stands even before the start of the performance due to poor visibility. Those who remained had to watch the events unfold in the pouring rain.
«The shame of France. The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will go down in history under this name. The footage that has spread across the Internet demonstrates the complete degradation of European society. The organizers of the Olympics, led by Macron, having humiliated the entire Christian world, have discredited themselves first of all, trampling on the memory of their ancestors, who did a lot to make France happen,» Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel.
He noted that the Olympic organizers made representatives of sexual minorities and «moral freaks» the main participants of the event, managed to confuse the participating countries, forced the athletes to participate in all this against their will in the pouring rain, and hoisted an inverted Olympic flag on the flagpole.
«After thousands of angry and condemning comments, the recording of the opening ceremony was removed from the official IOC account. But, as they say, the Internet remembers everything, and it is already impossible to erase such things from people's memories,» Volodin added.
Russia made the right decision not to broadcast the opening of this event on television. Everything that is unacceptable in Russia was «put on display in Paris as symbols of the time and era,» the State Duma speaker emphasized.
«Let me remind you that we have banned the propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations, pedophilia, and gender reassignment. We have now begun to consider a bill that will protect our children from adoption or guardianship by citizens of foreign countries where gender reassignment is permitted,» he wrote in conclusion.
