Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing received a modified suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes

The changes are available to customers who choose the optional «track» package. The price will be announced later.

The Cadillac brand, owned by General Motors, introduced the CT5 in 2019: the model replaced the mid-size CTS sedan. The «regular» four-door underwent a restyling in the fall of 2023, and the «charged» versions — CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing — in January of this year. Now the top version is also offered with a new so-called «track» Precision package.

This version of the sedan, in particular, will receive a modified suspension with a different anti-roll bar, stiffer springs, and other bushings. The version with the Precision package has new front steering knuckles, and a revised rear suspension. The company said that the changes made it possible to increase the «dynamics» of the CT5-V Blackwing both on the street and on the highway.

In addition, such a sports sedan received a reconfigured steering and modified software for adjusting the MagneRide shock absorbers, as well as an electronic limited-slip differential. This version of the Cadillac sedan was also equipped with a carbon-ceramic brake system.

The engine of the new version is standard: we are talking about a supercharged V8 LT4 engine with a volume of 6.2 liters, the maximum power of which is 677 hp, and the torque is 894 Nm. It is offered with either a six-speed manual transmission or a ten-speed automatic. The drive is rear only.

During the recent update, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing received a large 33-inch curved dashboard, which is located on the front panel. The display combines a virtual instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system. The multimedia supports modern Google services and a 5G Wi-Fi router, in addition, the developers have updated the set of electronic driver assistants.

Recall that serial production of Cadillac sports sedans is established at the Lansing Grand River plant, which is located in Michigan (USA). The cost of the Precision package is currently unknown. The starting price of the current Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing sedan on the American market today is $93,495 (equivalent to about 8.02 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
