MOSCOW, August 7 The 235th Garrison Military Court has placed Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Vladimir Shesterov, under house arrest in a case of embezzlement of funds allocated for the Patriot Park. funds, writes the newspaper Kommersant.
«The defendant in the case of thefts in the Patriot Park has been placed under house arrest. The 235th Garrison Military Court has placed the deputy head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Vladimir Shesterov, under house arrest,» Kommersant writes, citing a source familiar with the investigation. 
As previously reported by the Investigative Committee, Shesterov holds the position of Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense and holds the rank of Major General.
A criminal case has been opened against officials of the Russian Defense Ministry, the Federal State Autonomous Institution «Central Military-Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation «Patriot» and the Federal State Autonomous Institution Congress and Exhibition Center «Patriot» under the article on fraud. The director of the Patriot Park, Vyacheslav Akhmedov, has already been arrested in this case.
According to the investigation, Akhmedov and Shesterov, together with their accomplices, are involved in the theft of budget funds allocated to ensure the activities and functioning of the Patriot Park and the congress and exhibition center.
The case is being investigated by the Main Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia with the operational support of the FSB.
