Last week, fresh spy photos of the new generation of the popular budget crossover were published on the Web. Using them, we decided to imagine what the novelty will look like.
The Duster model was developed at the Renault technical center and first introduced at the end of 2009 under the Dacia subsidiary brand for European markets. A little later, under the Renault brand, the crossover appeared in other world markets, including Russia. Today, the second generation of the Duster is on the assembly line, which premiered in the summer of 2017. The year before last, a restyled crossover was presented, and now test samples of the third generation are being tested.

Based on the available spy photos, the new crossover will retain its usual proportions, while its design will be made in the style of the larger concept SUV Bigster, demonstrated in early 2021. Duster will get a similar front end with horizontal headlights, visually combined with a narrow grille, and an angular bumper. The wheel arches will receive plastic lining, and their shape will be more “square” in the style of the same Bigster. Instead of keyboard door handles, more modern “natural grip” ones will appear in front, and rear handles will be built into the door pillars. The concept borrowed the original Y-shaped lamps and the general shape of the trunk lid. The license plate niche will be placed a little higher compared to the current Duster, and the rear pillars will be made more «littered».

The third generation Duster will be built on the new CMF-B platform that the current Dacias already use Logan and Sandero, as well as the cross-station wagon Dacia Jogger introduced a year and a half ago. From them, the novelty can borrow engines, for example, a 1.0 TCe petrol “turbo engine” with a capacity of 110 hp. (200 Nm) or a 1.0 Eco-G bi-fuel engine running on gasoline and propane and developing 100 hp. (170 Nm). Also, current hybrid modifications will certainly appear. It is also known that there will no longer be a diesel engine in the range.
